Hazel Ione (Milton) Marshall's Obituary

Hazel Ione (Milton) Marshall left this world and entered the pearly gates of heaven on Feb. 10, 2022. She died in Mount Sidney, Virginia at the home of her daughter Carole. Hazel was a compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was born to Rex and Essie Lee (Mullins) Milton in Rutledge, Alabama on Sept. 10, 1937. After graduating from Luverne High school, Hazel attended and graduated from Massey Draughon Business College in Montgomery, Alabama. She married Edward V. Marshall on November 21, 1956, at Second Baptist Church in Montgomery. Hazel and Ed were married 52 years before he passed away in 2009.

Together, Hazel and Ed had 2 children: Edward Milton Marshall of Rutledge, Alabama; and Carole Marshall Ishee (Jeff) of Mount Sidney, Virginia. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Buck Boudousquie (Kayla) of Clanton, AL; Ashley Boudousquie (fiancé William Ruhlman) of Troy, Virginia; Daniel Boudousquie (Lauren) of Whittier, NC; Michael Marshall (Stephanie) of Lilburn, GA; and Brannon Marshall (Jamie) of Birmingham, AL. Hazel was also blessed with four great-grandchildren.

Hazel and her entire family were active members of Second Baptist Church in Montgomery, which later became Eastmont Baptist Church. She was a member of the church choir for more than 30 years. Hazel loved spending time with her friends and family, playing softball, bowling, creating delicious meals for her family, and shelling peas with her daughter and granddaughter. She had a successful career and retired as an executive secretary for the Alabama Department of Education.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of Hazel's Hospice caregivers including Bev, Virginia, Susan, and Jeanne for their compassionate care. A special thanks is due to Ruth Ann Beaghan who cared for Hazel during her final five years.

Pallbearers will be Milton Marshall, Jeffrey Milton, Brannon Marshall, Michael Marshall, Buck Boudousquie, and Daniel Boudousquie. Honorary pall bearers will be Donnie Milton, Johnny "Cotton" Adams, and members of Ed and Hazel's Sunday School classes at Eastmont Baptist Church.
