Hazel Juanita (Fridley) Curry, 90, wife of Harold Rosser Curry of Staunton, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living.
Mrs. Curry was born on May 7, 1925 in Augusta Springs, a daughter of the late
Modie Sylvester and Mary Elizabeth (Tredway) Fridley.
Hazel was a member of the Buffalo Gap Presbyterian Church. She retired in 1994 from Hershey Chocolate as a bagger operator and prior to retirement she was employed at Genicom, Tommies Pajama Factory and Stillwater Mills. She enjoyed sewing, baking, playing bingo, cards, taking care of and spending time with her family. Mrs. Curry was an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Fridley.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Burt S. Clark and his wife Linda of Staunton; a daughter, Deborah C. Marshall and her husband Duane, Sr. of Chesapeake; a brother, Lonzie Fridley of Lake City, FL; two sisters, Barbara Corrine Stevens of Augusta Springs and Marie Clarke of Staunton; four grandchildren, Dylan Clark, Adam Clark, Duane Marshall, Jr. and Beverly Carpenter; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her residence or the home of her son and daughter-in-law.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Olivia Haney.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be David Price, Trey Price, Gary Fridley, Lewis Burns, Steve Bosserman and Tim Clark.
