STAUNTON:
Hazel Marie (Jordan) Davis, 80, formerly of Grayson Avenue in Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2011 in Augusta Health.
Mrs. Davis was born January 17, 1931 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late John Ernest and Lillian Alice (Blackwell) Jordan.
Mrs. Davis was employed with Virginia Department of Social Services as a Social Worker until her retirement in 1985. She was of the Presbyterian faith and enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to country music and gardening. Mrs. Davis was an excellent story teller and captivated her audience while she spoke.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline (Jordan) Clements and a granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Davis. Mrs. Davis was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde W. Davis and wife Patricia of Staunton, James A. Davis and wife Delores of Boones Mill, and Ronald W. Davis and wife Vicki of Fishersville; two daughters, Shirley Ann Hartless of Buena Vista and Janet L. Smith and husband Raymond E. of Staunton; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Pastor Bobby Campbell.
