Harvey Dale Hamilton, 63, husband of Dorothy (Taylor) Hamilton, of 61 Antrim Road, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.

Mr. Hamilton was born on February 7, 1951, in Staunton a son of the late Lawrence Elvin and Mary Emily (Dale) Hamilton.

Harvey was a member of Fishersville Baptist Church where he taught The Last Stop Sunday School class. Mr. Hamilton was a member of the former Fishersville Ruritan Club; he coached all levels of Little League baseball; was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, tinkering and taking day trips. Harvey was a 1969 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School, a former Boy Scout and retired in 2013 after 43 years of service as a project engineer with the Augusta County Service Authority.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Mr. Hamilton is survived by his son, Chris Dale Hamilton of Staunton and his daughter, Katie Michelle Hamilton of Waynesboro; two brothers, Clifton Lee Hamilton and wife Linda; and Kenneth Elvin Hamilton and wife Robin, all of Fishersville; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro by Pastor Ramona Bosserman.

Active pallbearers will be Glenn Arehart, John Baker, Walter Wade, Gary Gilbert, Tommy Sprouse, Michael Benavitch, and Matt Morris.

Honorary pallbearers will be former members of the Fishersville Ruritan Club and members of the The Last Stop Sunday School class.
