Harry Walter Swecker, 85, widower of Jane (Clements) Swecker, of Staunton, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Mr. Swecker was born in Blue Grass, Virginia on February 16, 1940, son of the late John Meade Swecker, Sr. and Gladys (Mullenax) Swecker.
Harry was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He built Craigsville Video Cable TV Company and then later co-owned Augusta Video Cable TV Company.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Swecker was preceded in death by three brothers, John Meade "June" Swecker, Jr., Randolph W. Swecker and Richard Calvin "Dick" Swecker; and three sisters, Charlotte Louise "Chock" Arbogast, Edith Virginia Swecker, and Josephine Ann "Jo Ann" Swecker and her husband, Robert "Shrimp."
Surviving, is a son, Carey Walter Swecker and his wife, Robin of Verona; a sister, Donna Blank and her husband, Gerald of Harrisonburg; two grandchildren, Jacob M. Swecker and his wife, Kelsey and Rian P. Swecker; two step-granddaughters, Heather Vivian and Erin Harris; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Calvary United Methodist Church by Pastor David Vaughn.
The family will receive friends following the service.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
