Harold Edward Sandy, Sr., 84, of Waldorf, Maryland passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Hospice of Charles County House in Waldorf, Maryland.

Mr. Sandy was born in Churchville, Virginia on December 20, 1936, a son of the late William Franklin "Frank" and Hessie Hilda (Harris) Sandy.

Harold served his country in the United States Navy and was a self-employed painter. He was a member of the Painter's Union #368 and enjoyed listening to country music.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sandy was preceded in death by two sisters, Marguerite (Sandy) Boute Ritter and Dorothy (Sandy) Zeigler; two brothers, Frank Sandy, Jr. and Erskine L. Sandy; and a granddaughter, Melissa "Missy" Richards.

Surviving are his children, Harold and Norma Sandy, Jr. of Waldorf, MD, Diane and James "Jimmy" Richards, III of LaPlata, MD; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Thornrose Cemetery by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.
