Harold Bernard "Ike", "Ikey", "Bernie" Nycum, 77, husband of Dreame Leigh (Thompson) Nycum of 1712 Springhill Road passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehab Center.
Mr. Nycum was born on February 25, 1941 in Craigsville, a son of the late
Sandy Allen and Leslie Irene (Glover) Nycum.
Harold was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War, and retired from DuPont in 1999 with forty years of service as a mechanic. "Ike", while his health allowed, attended Calvary Assembly of God and after his declining health he continued his tithing and faithful support to the church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and traveling. "Mr. Nycum will be remembered by his family and friends as a man who never said a cross word to or about anyone."
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nycum was preceded in death by a brother, James F. Nycum, Sr.; two sisters, Frances Martin and Irene Fridley; and a nephew, James F. Nycum, Jr.
In addition to his wife of fifty-one years, is a sister, Margaret E. Davis; four nieces, Glenna Lawhorn and husband Blaine, Beverley Davidson, Judy Davis and husband Wayne, and Brenda Nycum; six nephews, Harold Wayne Nycum and wife Hilda, Larry Dean Nycum, Sr. and wife Darlene, David G. Fridley and wife Diane, Andrew Johnson, Curtis Johnson and wife Buffy, and Mat Acord.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Kevin Persinger and Gregory Miller.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Craigsville Community Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Brad Ashworth, Carol Burnett, Michael Davis, Nick Nycum, Jeff Jennings, Chad Harvat, Andrew Johnson, and Curtis Johnson.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
