Hansford O. Turtle Humphries, 83, widower of Dorothy Virginia (Sensabaugh) Humphries, of 746 Middlebrook Road passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Humphries was born on August 25, 1932 in Staunton, a son of the late Harry R. and Audra (Sutton) Humphries.
Mr. Humphries was a member of Staunton Church of the Brethren and was a veteran of the United States Army. Turtle was a self-employed electrician and the owner/operator of Superior Electric Service for over 40 years.
In addition to his wife who passed away on July 24, 2016 and his parents, Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin R. Humphries, Sr.
Surviving are three sons, Keith E. Humphries and Trent D. Humphries both of Staunton and Eric B. Humphries of Harrisonburg; two grandsons, Damon Humphries and his fiance Jessica Lotts and Shawn Humphries and his fiance Jeanie Painter; three great grandchildren, Hayden Humphries, Darren Humphries and Eva Humphries; two step-grandchildren, Annie Ewell and MaryByrd Pettenati; one step-great granddaughter, Logan Lotts; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 in the Staunton Church of the Brethren and other times the residence.
A Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Staunton Church of the Brethren by Pastor Scott Duffey.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Eric Humphries, Trent Humphries, Shawn Humphries, Damon Humphries, Otis Carpenter, Sr. and Otis Carpenter, Jr.
Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Humphries.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
