STAUNTON

Hallie Mae (Thompson) Hall, 87, widow of William H. Hall, Sr., of 641 Gypsy Ave. passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Hall was born February 14, 1924 in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Edward and Jesse (Chaplin) Thompson.
Mrs. Hall spent her years as a child and young adult in Rockbridge County and later moved to the Staunton area where she met her husband, Mr. William H. Hall, Sr. of fifty-years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired in 1989 from Western State Hospital where was employed as a psychiatric aide. Mrs. Halls greatest enjoyment was caring for her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Thompson and three sisters, Mary Leslie, Sue Case and Mildred Boles.
Mrs. Hall was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, William H. Bill Hall, Jr. and wife Shirley and a daughter, Judy H. Fielding all of Staunton; two granddaughters, Dori Steffes and Dana Barton; two great grandchildren, Steven Sheets and Taylor Martin; a great great granddaughter, Melanie Sheets and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor Ralph Grow.
The family will receive friends at the residence at any time.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the charity of ones choice.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 230 Frontier Drive is in charge of her arrangements.
