Fields, Sr.
June 19, 1929 – December 10, 2022
Grafton Glenn Fields, Sr., 93, husband of Lou Ann Fields of Afton, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Fields was born in Nelson County, Virginia, on June 19, 1929, a son of the late John Fields and Blanche E. (Grant) Fields.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie R. Taylor; a brother, Carroll Campbell, and a sister, Ollie Hughes.
Mr. Fields was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church and retired from DuPont in Waynesboro after 41 years. He loved sports and Washington teams, gardening and restoring cars. Glenn enjoyed farming and was the owner/proprietor of Glenn Fields TV and Appliance in Nellysford, for many years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of thirty-five years are his sister, Patsy Ferrier (Bill); his children, Glenn Fields, Jr. (Linda), Kathy Hughes (Calvin), and Cindy Thompson (J.L.); grandchildren, Keith Almarode, Cindy Sheets, Chrissy Bruce, Kevin Almarode, Jennifer Rowe, Michele Hughes, Natalie Faulk, John Glenn Thompson, Phillip Thompson, and Meredith Daniel; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at Beech Grove Christian Church in Roseland, Virginia, by Pastor Billy Coffey.
Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be John Glenn Thompson, Noah Rowe, J.L. Thompson, Ed Bruce, Keith Almarode, Glenn Thompson, Dale Dodd, and Matthew Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and family attending the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beech Grove Church Cemetery Fund, 1207 Beech Grove Road, Roseland, Virginia 22967.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Legacy Hospice of Fishersville for their love and care.
