IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenna Margaret
(Ryan) White
December 18, 1937 – January 27, 2026
Glenna Margaret (Ryan) White, 88, widow of William Brooks "Bill" White, of Hickory Nut Lane, Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at her residence.
Mrs. White was born on December 18, 1937, a daughter of the late Arthur A. Ryan and Cleta Neff (Kite) Ryan.
Glenna was born in Rockingham County and moved to Charlottesville, where she graduated from Lane High School. She lived and worked in Charlottesville prior to marrying the love of her life, Bill, whereupon they moved to Staunton. They later built their dream home in Churchville where they spent their golden years. Glenna worked in various capacities but her true joy was in making a home. She loved cooking, sewing, reading, and a good game of checkers, especially if any of these included her grandchildren.
With the passing of her husband, she found peace and strength in the Lord. Her favorite verse comes from Matthews 11:28-29 Come unto me all who are weary and heavy laden... for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Lighter still in the arms of Jesus.
In addition to her parents and husband of 55 years, Mrs. White was preceded in death by siblings, Leroy Ryan, Elwood Ryan, Charles Ryan, Mildred (Ryan) Sprouse, and Mary Catherine (Ryan) Allen.
Left to cherish her memory, is a daughter, Sharon Renée (White) Hilbert and her husband, Ken of Fishersville; a grandson, Marshall Hilbert and his wife, Courtney; and a granddaughter, Emma Hilbert.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Wayne Hills Baptist Church by Pastor Jamie McClanahan.
Burial will be private in Augusta Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Preston Yancey Fire Department, P.O. Box 177 Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
