Glen Roy Bill Binion, Sr., 82, husband of Wanda Binion of 506 Hillcrest Drive passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.
Mr. Binion was born December 4, 1928 in Clifton forge, VA a son of the late Joseph and Bertie V. (Maggard) Binion.
Mr. Binion enjoyed many years as a teacher/instructor at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center and Valley Vo-Tech. He was a charter member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Bill was a friend to many and his parting words were Everybody Needs A Hug.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of sixty-three years, are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Glen R. Billy Binion, Jr. and Joseph Joe Binion and his wife Sara, all of Staunton; two grandsons, Derek Binion and Will Binion of Staunton; a granddaughter, Kasey Jo Binion of Staunton; brother-in-law, William M. Gurd of Covington, sisters-in-law, Patsy Martin and her husband Eddie of Roanoke, VA and Virginia Davis of Yorktown, PA.; many nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Bethany Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Robert R. von Oeyen, Jr.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2501 Fifth Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
