Gladys Marie (Shifflett) Collier, 88, widow of Rev. Haywood Wayne Collier, of Staunton, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Brookdale of Staunton.

Mrs. Collier was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on February 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Andrew and Virginia Shifflett.

Gladys enjoyed being a minister's wife, playing piano, and singing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Collier was preceded in death by a sister, Virgie Morris.

Surviving, is a son, Randall W. Collier and his wife Melissa of Stuarts Draft, VA; a daughter, Sharon (Collier) Waggy and her husband Jeff of Dayton, VA; three brothers, Ernest Shifflett of Rockville, MD, Elbert Shifflett of Damascus, MD, and James Shifflett of Martinsburg, WV; four grandchildren, Daniel Collier and his wife Ciara, Joshua Collier and his wife Taylor, Charity Hamer and her husband Charles, and Jeffrey Waggy, II; three step-grandchildren, Brandon Mitchell and his wife Cristen, Ryan Mitchell (Emily) and Jordyn Mitchell; five great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville by Reverend J.B. Shumaker.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
