George Edward Rowe, Sr., 80, husband of Wanda Huff Rowe of Middlebrook, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Rowe was born in Craigsville on July 29, 1945, a son of the late Portland C. Rowe, Sr. and Lillie (Reid) Rowe.

George was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Grayson Butler and his siblings, Glennie Rowe, Portland C. Rowe, Jr., and Catherine Rowe Elliott.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by his children, George Edward Rowe, Jr., Susan Burchett, Ramona Taylor, Matthew Rowe and his wife, Carrie, and Janille Butler; grandchildren, Rachel Glass, Brandon Burchett, Felicia Wagner and her husband, Chris, Justin Taylor, Crystal Ruddock and her husband, Jonathan, Brooke Rowe, Gabriel Rowe, Evelyn Rowe, Jessie Rowe, Alyssa Rowe, Bryan and Christian Rowe; ten great-grandchildren, Lily, Liam, Mckenzie, River, Asher, Kai, Luke, Laia, Bailey, Blake, and Braelyn and his special animal companion, “Nugget”.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Shenandoah Baptist Church in Verona.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
