George Edward Eddie Pugh, 65, gained his wings on Monday, February 15, 2016, after overcoming many obstacles.
Mr. Pugh was born on October 8, 1950 in Crozet, a son of the late Gordon and Lucille Pugh.
George lived in Waynesboro for thirty years and was employed at Virginia Metal Crafters and Mohawk Industries. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army where serving in the Vietnam Conflict as a SPC 4. As a boy George was in the Cub Scouts and Peachtree baseball, graduated in 1969 from Albemarle High School and received a business degree in accounting. He enjoyed fishing, playing softball, watching the Detroit Tigers play, taking trips to Smith Mountain Lake and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, who knew him as PawPaw.
In addition to his parents Mr. Pugh was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Ward and a brother, Bobby Pugh.
Surviving is a son, Eddie Pugh and his wife Jeri of Staunton; two daughters, Cathy Pugh of Waynesboro and Missy Pugh of Winchester; five brothers, Doug Pugh, Wayne Pugh, Mike Pugh, Ronnie Pugh and Jeff Pugh; six grandchildren, Tara, Jazpyr, Cooper, Christopher, Ashia and Kamari; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
