Geneva Grace (Tingler) Hizer, 89, widow of Robert Jordan Hizer, formerly of Beverley Street, Verona, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in the Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fishersville.
Mrs. Hizer was born in Greenbrier County, West Virginia on July 30, 1931, a daughter of the late Vernie W. and Margie (Baker) Matney.
Geneva was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed cooking and baking.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hizer was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Frances Michael; two infant daughters; a brother, Jimmy Tingler; and a sister, Shirley Richmond.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Holliday and his wife Toni of Churchville, Wayne Hizer and his wife Diane of Bridgewater, and Bobby E. Hizer and his wife Lisa of Fishersville; seven grandchildren, Doug Aleshire, Melanie Sandridge, Susan Senger, Van Hizer, Derek Hizer, Dakota Hizer, and Drake Hizer; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Tingler and a sister, Thelma Richmond both of Buchanan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Those desiring may pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
