Mrs. Gail (Colvin) Craun, 62, wife of Benny F. Craun of 36 Lebanon Church Road Staunton, passed away Saturday, (July 11, 2009) in the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.
Mrs. Craun was born on November 17, 1946 in Staunton, a daughter of the late John Samuel, Sr. and Hazel Bernice (Thompson) Colvin.
Prior to retiring, Gail was employed part-time by Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, assisting the Activities Director with the residences activities, she worked for the Augusta County Department of Social Services, the Valley Pastoral Counseling Services and the Voter Registration Office for Augusta County. She enjoyed the outdoors, scrap-booking, cross stitching, fishing and collecting rocks, a hobby that she inherited from her parents.
In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Mr. Cecil F. Craun; two nephews, James Bradley Colvin and John R. Bobby Colvin.
Surviving in addition to her husband to whom she married on October 21, 1972, is a son and daughter-in-law, Ashley C. Craun and his wife Shari B. of Staunton; a brother and sister-in-law, John Samuel Sammy Colvin, Jr. and his wife Gale D. of Craigsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce C. Tuttle and her husband Bill of Millboro; a grandson, Bradley Thomas Craun; her mother-in-law, Dorothy K. Craun of Weyers Cave; a sister-in-law, Judy Ann Craun of Harrisonburg and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (July 14, 2009) in the Springhill Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Revs. John H. Haney and Temple D. Myers.
Their will be no public viewing.
The family will receive friends at the residence at anytime.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
