Obituary

Gail Elizabeth (Craft) Tomey, 67, of 1041 Selma Blvd., passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Ms. Tomey was born on September 30, 1948 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Banks Cecil James, Sr. and Bessie Elizabeth (Hemp) Craft.

Gail was a member of the Staunton Church of Christ, and retired in 1996 from Genicom. Following her retirement she worked part-time at the Kangaroo Express Quick Stop on Greenville Ave. in Staunton.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Tomey was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Painter and Glenn Painter.

Surviving are two sons, Kevin S. Craft of Staunton and Christopher D. Tomey of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a brother, Banks Bucky Craft, Jr of Staunton; a sister, Katie K. Craft of Staunton; two grandsons, Tyler S. Craft and Austin Tomey; special friends, Dotty Tisdale, Tracy Morris and Noah Morris and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Barry Creasy.

There will be no public viewing and the family will receive friends anytime at the residence.

Active pallbearers will be her brother Bucky Craft, Henry Waalewyn, Wayne Hemp, Bobby Painter, Danny Hevener and Timmy Hevener.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
