Fredrick J. Fleischacker
STAUNTON:
Fredrick John Fred Fleischacker, 67, husband of Betty Jean (Croutch) Fleischacker of 206 West Hill Farm Drive, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Fleischacker was born March 2, 1942 in Rocky Ford, Colorado, a son of the late Henry Fritz and Mildred G. (Walker) Fleischacker.
Fred worked as an Electrical Engineer at NIBCO of Virginia before retiring due to declining health and also enjoyed working for WTON as a DJ and engineer. He was known as Fast Freddie, a lover for music with an awesome collection of records.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Lu Fleischacker.
Survivors in addition to his wife Betty Jean to whom he married on August 1, 1962 include two daughters and sons-in-law, Chanalyn F. Avila and her husband Richard of Parker, Colorado and Ranie F. Craig and her husband Clint of Tifton, Georgia; a sister, Linda Smith of Thornton, Colorado; five grandchildren, Kyle and Leah Avila, Nick, Justin and Samantha Craig; three great-grandchildren, Miya Rodriguez and Abby and Jasmine Craig.
A celebration of Freds life will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Monday, (June 15, 2009) in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by the Pastor Joseph C. Brandon.
The family will receive friends following the service.
