Fred Monroe Strickler, Jr., 66, of Waynesboro, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Strickler was born in Staunton, Virginia on March 15, 1956 a son of the late Fred Monroe Strickler, Sr. and Eliese Virginia (Michael) Strickler.

Fred retired from ASR and was formerly employed at Hershey in Stuarts Draft. He was a member of the Verona Moose Lodge #2172 and 'Moose Riders'. Fred loved to travel and ride his motorcycle. He visited almost every state in the United States. Always ready for a spontaneous adventure, he kept a suitcase packed. Fred was a giver and wanted everyone to be included in all that he did. He had a huge heart, was selfless, and always wanted those around him to be happy.

Surviving, is a son, Brian Strickler (Brandy Michelle Cummings); a daughter, Stefanie Vandevander (Zachary); two step-daughters, Kristin O'Neal and Holly Hilton; three sisters, Juanita Simmons (Van), Karen Sue DeVore, and Alicia Cash (Steve); a brother, Dwight Strickler (Caroline); six grandchildren, AvaLynn Cummings, SkyLee Cummings, Kimber Strickler, Zachary Strickler, Lani Goggin, and Sydney Vandevander; a number of beloved nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Clayton Bosserman.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

Burial will be private.
