FRANKLIN AVIS MARTIN
STAUNTON:
Franklin Avis Martin, 58 of 1709 Paige Street, passed away Friday (September 12, 2008) in the Augusta Medical Center.
Mr. Martin was born on January 28, 1950 in Staunton, a son of the late Hobert Hazel and Peggy (Stoner) Martin.
Franklin was a self-employed contractor as a roofer.
In addition to his mother of Staunton, survivors include a son, Franklin Avis Martin, II and his wife Joy of Staunton; four daughters, Missy Stacy and Kimberly Phill both of Staunton, Amanda Martin of Waynesboro and Leslie Martin of Franks Mill; five sisters, Marie Ann Halterman, Shirley Smith, Wanda Crawford, Cindy Kier and Trudy Haaf all of Staunton; and eleven grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
In keeping with Mr. Martins wishes, his body was cremated.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of the arrangements.
