Franklin 'Buddy' Junior Reed's Obituary
Franklin Junior Buddy Reed, 77, husband of Jane Reed, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Reed was born September 25, 1936 in Augusta County, a son of the late W. Frank and Antha Reed.
Mr. Reed served his country during World War II in the United States Army and was retired from Western State Hospital after thirty years of service.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Reed was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Debra Dee Balser; a step-son, Ricky Dale Sirk; a brother, Roy Reed and two sisters, Edith Huffman and Irene Rexrode.
In addition to his wife of thirty-five years, Mr. Reed is survived by three sons, Randy Reed of Roanoke, Jimmy Reed of Stokesville and Michael Reed of Lexington; a daughter, Sarah Palmer of Salem; three sisters, Mary Punky Echard of Bridgewater, Patsy Grant of Waynesboro, and Shirley Hilty of Middlebrook,; five grandchildren, Keyara Reed, Curtis Balser, Mark Clausen, Samantha Clausen, and Tabatha Clausen; and great-grandchild, Gabby Clausen.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
