Frances Elvira (Buchanan) Snow, 81, wife of Harold Dean Snow of 51 Sunset Blvd. passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Snow was born on March 9, 1935 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Lewis Lee and Mary Bell (Reed) Buchanan.
Frances was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and retired in 1995 from Western State Hospital where she was employed as an aide. Mrs. Snow enjoyed cooking and working in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snow was preceded in death by a step-son, Harold A. Snow; two brothers, Roger Lewis Buchanan and William R. Buchanan.
Surviving in addition to her husband of thirty years is a son, Charles Lee Charlie Buchanan and his wife Peggy of Verona; a daughter, Debbie A. Hendricks of Staunton; a step-son, Howard
Wade Snow and his wife Dee of Staunton; a brother, Kenneth Lee Buchanan of Oregon; a sister, Shirley Law of Staunton; five grandchildren, Eric Buchanan and his wife Kelly, Latasha Buchanan, Josh Snow, James Snow and Carla Craig and her husband Steve; five great-grandchildren; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Luke Smith and Pastor David Anderson.
The family will receive friends following the service.
