Ferraba O. Collier
STAUNTON:
Ferraba Ophelia (Huntley) Collier, 73, of Staunton
passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from the results of an automobile accident.
Mrs. Collier was born in Augusta County on January 6, 1939, a daughter of the late Henry F. and Abigail M. (Snead) Huntley.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Unifi with 28 years of service.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collier was preceded in death by three sisters: Beatrice Byers, Dorothy Stone, Katherine Grant, and three brothers: James Huntley, Arthur Huntley and Russell Huntley.
Mrs. Collier was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving is a son: Donald Lee Donnie Collier, Jr. of Stuarts Draft; three daughters: Corinne Rainie Butler of Glade Hill, Judy Sokolowski and her husband Tony of Fredericksburg and Cheryl Sherry Haley and her husband Eddie of Weyers Cave; five grandchildren: Eric Butler, Dustin Haley, Kristan Collier, Darren Haley and Derek Collier; four great-grandchildren: Sabian Butler, Blake Butler, Novah Butler and Lotus Butler.
As per Mrs. Colliers request, burial will be private and there will be no public viewing.
A celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Mount Sidney by Rev. John Crawford, III.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 42 Neff Avenue, Suite 210, Harrisonburg VA 22801.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
