Evelyn Elizabeth (Utz) Pullen, 88, widow of Pressley Lockhamilton Pullen, of 160 Chestnut Avenue, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Pullen was born on January 17, 1930 in Estes, Virginia, a daughter of the late Thomas Hubert and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Utz.
Evelyn was a member of the Craigsville Holiness Church, she was a lifetime caregiver to family and neighbors, and she enjoyed cooking and canning.
In addition to her parents and husband to whom she married on August 14, 1948, Mrs. Pullen was preceded in death by a son, William Clayton "Willie" Pullen; three brothers; and a granddaughter, Deanna Clifton.
Surviving are two sons, Pressley L. Pullen, Jr. of Winchester and David M. Pullen and his wife Linda of Earlysville; three daughters, Nancy E. Cummings of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Rebecca J. Sage and her husband Jeff of Cunningham, Kentucky, and Mary K. Clifton of Martinsville; a brother, Donald R. Utz of Strasburg; two sisters, Lois C. Whorton of Centreville and Glenna "Etta" Buchamnan of Bristol, Virginia; six grandchildren, Adrian Pullen, Denisa Verser, Conner Sage, Kimberly Pullen, Robert Clifton, and Scotty Pullen; eight great-grandchildren, Yeakley, Bodie, Dakota, Brock, Daniel, Jasime, Isabella, and Evan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Craigsville Holiness Church.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 in the Craigsville Holiness Church by Pastor Garey L. Wilson and Fonzo Randolph.
Burial will follow in the Craigsville Cemetery.
