Evelyn Leona "Peg" (Wheeler) Saufley, 96, widow of Fred Woodrow Saufley of 815 Selma Boulevard, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Saufley was born on September 5, 1921 in Augusta County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Edward Blair and Jessie (Wickline) Wheeler.
Peg was a member of the Verona United Methodist Church and retired from banking industry where she had been employed as a secretary.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Saufley was preceded in death seven brothers; and a sister.
Surviving is a sister, Charlotte "Kitty" Bateman of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 in the Verona United Methodist Church by Pastor Bob Weeks.
Burial will follow in the Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
The family would like to extend a sincere and grateful "Thank You" to caregivers, Penny Wheeler, Jannette Gordon, and William "Billy" Atkins. They would also like to thank the staff at Augusta Health and Hospice of the Shenandoah for their concern and loving care.
