Obituary

Evelyn Cecelia (Robertson) White, 83, affectionately known as Maw White and widow of Tommy Laneer White of 2313 Third Street passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. White was born on July 21, 1932 in Highland County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Max Guy Robertson and Hazel (Carpenter) Reynolds.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Burns.
Mrs. White was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, she provided child care in her home to many children and she enjoyed playing cards, cooking and cleaning. Mrs. White will be remembered by her family and friends for her willingness to give and never take.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas A. White and his wife Jane of Staunton and Steven G. White and his wife Lois of Monterey; a daughter, Cindy L. Kelley and her husband Keith of Monterey; a brother, Joseph Lockridge of Highland; three grandchildren, Nina Dunn and her husband Daniel, Jason Elkins and his fiance Ashley Green and Brittany Robertson and her husband Brian; five great grandchildren, Preston Elkins, Shailey Elkins, Meadow Dunn, Gracie Elkins and Alex Elkins; a special friend, Leta Carper and many other friends; and her pets Jake and BB also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Randy Spencer and Pastor Bobby Campbell.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be the men of her family and close friend, Mike Hammer.
