Evelyn Virginia (Fitzgerald) Donald Benson, 77, formerly of Crawford Drive passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Envoy of Staunton.
Mrs. Benson was born on December 9, 1938 in Buena Vista, a daughter of the late Woody and Bertie (Fridley) Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Benson was retired from Stonewall Jackson Hospital where she was employed as a Dietician and following retirement she worked as a greeter at Walmart in Lexington. Mrs. Benson enjoyed gardening, shopping and collecting porcelain dolls.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth C. Donald, Sr. and her second husband, Clarence W. Bill Benson and numerous brothers and sisters.
Surviving is a daughter, Melissa D. Wetzel and her husband Mark of Churchville; three sons, Kenneth C. Donald and his wife Freya of Middlebrook, Michael E. Donald of Falling Waters, WVA and Kevin A. Donald and his wife Dannell of Lawton, OK; a brother, Berle Fitzgerald of Glasgow; a sister, Millie Lloyd of Staunton; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
A private graveside service will be conducted in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by Rev. John Ward.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
