Evalena (Argenbright) Armstrong, 95, widow of Lloyd Nelson Armstrong, Sr. of Verona passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her residence.
Mrs. Armstrong was born on June 29, 1929 in Mt. Solon, a daughter of the late Jacob Arthur and Elsie (Eavers) Argenbright.
Evalena attended Jerusalem Chapel and retired from Genesco as an examiner for over 30 years. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents and husband of 37 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Mike Argenbright.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd Armstrong, Jr. and his wife Roxanne of Swoope and Wayne Armstrong and his wife Jane of Mt. Solon; a daughter, Nancy Carper and her husband Eddie of Verona; four grandchildren Scotty Armstrong and his wife Amanda, Tonya Armstrong, Michelle Sesny and her husband Greg, Jeremy Carper and his wife Brittany; ten great-grandchildren, Hailey, Nelson, Heather, Hannah and Amber Armstrong, Gianna, Max, and Joseph Sesny, Dorothy Carper and J.W. Carper, II; one great-great grandchild, Arriyah Armstrong; a brother, J.C. Argenbright of Staunton; and a sister, Maxie Griffin of Verona.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 18, 2024 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor George Etling.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Scotty and Nelson Armstrong, Jeremy Carper, Greg Sesny, Mike Argenbright, Jr., and Charlie Garber.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Ashlie, Joy, Susan and all the staff of the Hospice of the Shenandoah for their care and support.
