Eva Kate (Houff) Botkin, 94, widow of Richard Lee Botkin of Shutterlee Mill Lane, Staunton, passed away, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.
Mrs. Botkin was born in Mt. Sidney, Virginia on November 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Ethel Kate (Sheets) Houff.
Eva was a faithful and life-time member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, the Women's Group and the Golden Age Class. She retired from Western State Hospital and following retirement she was a dealer at the Factory Antique Mall where she made many friends, memories, and was well supported by the community.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Botkin was preceded in death by her son, Charles "C. B." Botkin; four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Botkin was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving is a daughter, Peggy Sheets and her husband Tom of Staunton; a granddaughter, Heather Sheets; two great-grandchildren, Jack Curran and Mia Curran; a number of nieces and nephews; and special people, Lacy Houff, Jr., Renee Estes, Travis Gilmer, and Charles "Doodie" Wrenn.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A Memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church by Pastor Ed Pruitt.
Burial will be private in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, Discretionary Fund, 160 Mt. Pisgah Road, Mt. Sidney, Virginia 24467.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
