Ethel Mae (Bright) Neff, 86, widow of Beryl Glenwood Neff, Sr., formerly of Plaza Apartments, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 in Augusta Health.
Mrs. Neff was born August 17, 1926 in Bath County, a daughter of the late Sherman Lee and Lena Sara (Brown) Bright.
Ethel was a member of Verona United Methodist Church and retired from VSDB on July 1, 1987, where she worked in the food service department. Mrs. Neffs hobbies included arts and crafts and making jewelry. She also enjoyed music, cooking and baking.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Neff was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Elaine McMillian; two grandsons, Ernest McMillian, III and Kevin Lee Neff; five brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Lee Neff, Sr. and his wife Sue of Christiansburg, Phillip Emory Neff and his wife Suzanne of New Hope and Beryl Glenwood Neff and his wife Sharon of Staunton; a daughter, Karen Ilene Neff of Staunton; a brother, Lester Bright of Deerfield; three sisters, Annie Curd of Fishersville, Mary Butler of Staunton and Lena Mahulda Cook of Fishersville; six grandchildren, Glenwood Allen Neff, Katherine Marie Ralston, Danny Lee Neff, Jr., Beryl Glenwood Neff, III, Douglas Wayne Neff and Lisa Jane Harman; six great-grandchildren, Jackson Nash Ralston, Logan Neff, Tara Miller, Quinton Neff, Anthony Johnson and Amanda Tyree; three great-great-grandchildren, AryAnna Johnson, Aiden Johnson and Jonah Miller and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Robert J. Weeks and Pastor Phillip Morgan.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
