Esther Diane (Trumbo) Jones, 66, of Powhatan passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at her residence.

Ms. Jones was born in Lexington, Virginia on May 10, 1957, a daughter of the late Harold and Doris Jean (Wine) Trumbo.

Esther was a loving mother, best friend, and sister to anyone and everyone. She was a proud "lefty" who was always smiling and showed compassion and care to anyone she met. Esther was extremely motivated by family and showed her deep love by putting others before herself. She was a southern rock music lover and enjoyed watching football and her Pittsburgh Steelers, and especially her old western TV shows. Esther was a gifted artist and enjoyed the beauty of flowers and collecting garden gnomes. She never gave up on her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her children, Whitney Marie Jones and Matthew Winston Jones and their father, Leon Winston Jones, II; a sister, Ruth Anne Trumbo; a brother Charles Franklin Trumbo and his wife, Robin Lizbeth, and their children, Joshua Zachariah Trumbo, Rebekah Lynne South Trumbo, Elijah Wilson Trumbo, and Victoria Nicolle Trumbo.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023 in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
