Emma Lou (Fretwell) Berry, 86, widow of Hoyet Lee Berry, of Staunton, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Waynesboro Manor in Waynesboro.

Mrs. Berry was born in Augusta County, Virginia on July 15, 1936, a daughter of the late Marcellus and Nellie Mae (Monroe) Fretwell.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Marvin Fretwell and a sister, Hazel Fretwell.

Surviving are three daughters, Diane Burns and husband Michael of Stuarts Draft, Wanda Simmons and husband Lonnie of Staunton, and Belinda Harris and husband Roscoe of Stuarts Draft; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Fretwell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Roscoe Harris.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
