Ellen May (Hatter) Harlow McClintock, 77, formerly of Crummett Lane, Stuarts Draft passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 in the Kings Daughters Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. McClintock was born January 23, 1933 in Lexington, Virginia a daughter of the late Carl B., Sr. and Lucy (Fitzgerald) Hatter.
Ellen was a member of the Church on the Hill in Fishersville, she was owner/operator of Harlows Exxon and Sam Gardner Demolition. Mrs. McClintock was a member of the ESA Sorority which helped to raise funds for St. Judes Children Hospital, she enjoyed gardening, baking and loved shopping with her family and many friends.
In addition to her parents Mrs. McClintock was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas E. Harlow, Sr. and Douglas C. McClintock, a sister Pauline Cash and three brothers, Carl B. Hatter, Jr., William C. Hatter and Robert A. Hatter.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard L. Harlow, Sr. and his wife Laura N. Gilliland of Staunton and Thomas E. and his wife Ann M. Harlow of Stuarts Draft; a daughter and son-in-law Joyce Faye (Fitzgerald) West and her husband Cecil R. of Staunton; two brothers, Harry Hatter of Roanoke and Thomas G. Hatter of Manassas; ten grandchildren, Hope L. Shifflett, Tabitha M. Lohr, Charity W. Russell, Jonathan C. West, Shannon L. Rudd, Richard L. Harlow, Jr., Caleb T. Harlow, Norman Gabriel Harlow, Elizabeth Ann Harlow and Garrett T. Harlow; twelve great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a special friend, George Hawke also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Thursday, (October 14, 2010) in the Church on the Hill, 100 Foursquare Lane, Fishersville, by Pastor Brandon Williams.
The family will receive friends following the service with a dinner provided by the church.
Burial will be private in the Oaklawn Memory Gardens and Staunton.
It is suggested those desiring to make memorial contributions to the
Church on the Hill Building Fund, 100 Foursquare Lane, Fishersville, VA. 24439.
