Elizabeth Winifred Bettie (McCann) Yount, 93, widow of Rev. James Odell Yount, of 144 Patton Farm Road passed away January 21, 2014.
Mrs. Yount was born April 28, 1920 in Perryton, Ohio to Byron C. and Beatrice (Noland) McCann.
Bettie was a graduate of West Virginia University. She worked as a Home Demonstration Agent in Grant County, WVA, and later taught school in Campbell County, VA. for 26 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, and husband of 65 years, Mrs. Yount was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Frank P. McCann of Plano, TX, and her eldest daughter, Linda Dillehunt.
Mrs. Yount is survived by two daughters, Sue Y. Burton, and husband, Ronnie of Danville and Becky Y. Michael, and husband Eddie of Verona; four grandchildren, David, Lori, James, and Josh.
A memorial service for Bettie will be held at a later date.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
