Elizabeth Ann Libby (Nutty) Smith, 79, widow of Malcolm M. Smith of 929 Nelson Street passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Smith was born February 19, 1933 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Edward Raymond and Minnie Ada (Moore) Nutty.
Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church where she had served on the session. She was manager the of the former Snyders Dress Shop and had worked as a sales associate with Fashion Gallery for over twenty-six years. She enjoyed flowers, working in the garden and sports.
In addition to her parents and husband Libby was preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Renee (Smith) Harmon.
Surviving is a son, Mark S. Smith and his wife Denise (Jett) of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Mona Jean (Nutty) VanMetre and her husband Garry and Sue (Nutty) Wagner and her husband Don all of Staunton; a granddaughter, Brooke Kaitlyn McAllister; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee Harmon and Madison Harmon; three nieces, Kim Galloway, Ashley Galloway and Tiffany Galloway and her faithful companion, Boyd Tankersley.
A Graveside service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Augusta Memorial Park, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Third Presbyterian Church by Pastor Jack B. Wilkers.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence of her sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Don Wagner, 699 Alextine Drive, Staunton.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Dickerson, Boyd Snyder, Donald Blackwell, Bobby McAllister, Richard Dickie Bell and Howard Holden, Jr.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to Third Presbyterian Church, 1313 Barterbrook Road, Staunton VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
