Elizabeth C. Shover

Elizabeth Claudine Deannie Shover, 64, of 2514 Hermitage Road passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 in the University of Virginia Hospital.
Miss Shover was born August 26, 1947 in Augusta County, the daughter of the late Claude Stone and Mary Mattie (Davis) Shover of Waynesboro.
Deannie was a 1966 graduate of Wilson High School and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Waynesboro and attended Hermitage Presbyterian Church occasionally. She worked forty years for the Augusta Co-Op Farm Bureau in Waynesboro before the store closed and the last five years in the Wilson Middle School cafeteria at the time of her death. She enjoyed and loved her animals.
In addition to her brother, Ronald H. Ronnie Shover of 631 Gypsy Avenue, Apt. B, Staunton; surviving are a niece, Melissa D. Stacy and her husband Joe of Waynesboro; a great-niece, Haley Dawn Stacy of Waynesboro; a very close family friend, Laura B. Mutispaugh of Staunton; a special child, Dwayne Fridley whom Deannie thought of as a member of her immediate family; cousins, Wilda Shover of Staunton and Nadine Shover and her daughter, Amy of Roanoke; close friends, John and Shirley Chapman and Terry and Freda Kirby of Waynesboro; many cousins; and many friends; and her beloved pet, Miss Kitty also survives.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Wray Sherman and James Pence.
Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Active pallbearers will be Joseph Stacy, John Chapman, Terry Kirby, Kenneth Leach, Alan Thomas and Kenneth Humel.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Augusta Regional S.P.C.A., 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
