Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Beth (Miller) Craig, 66, wife of Harry Lynwood Craig, Jr. of 1994 Spring Hill Road passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Craig was born on March 25, 1951 in Augusta, County, Virginia, a daughter of the late John and Marjorie (Steele) Miller.
Beth was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and James Madison University with a bachelors in Nursing. She received her degree in nursing from Rockingham Memorial in 1974, and became a registered nurse in the state of Virginia in 1974, the state of California in 1989 and later worked as a registered nurse for the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents. Beth was a former magistrate for the 25th Judicial District from 1989-1993, she sketched the artwork for the church bulletins, she was an interior designer, and she enjoyed collecting.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her toy poodle, Piper.
Surviving in addition to her husband of fifteen years, are two sons, Matthew Surratt of Fishersville and John Surratt of Maine; two step-daughters, Dana Johnson of Fishersville and Sonya Craig of Charlottesville; three grandchildren; her pet Chico a brother-in-law, Harold Craig of Stuarts Draft; three sisters-in-law, Betty Cason and her husband Woody of Staunton, Linda Brawley of North Carolina, and Peggy Hill and her husband David of Weyers Cave; and two dear friends, Elizabeth Cooke and Janet Truxell.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. Robert D. McCarty.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Staunton Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, Virginia 24402.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
