On September 7, 2013 in the Augusta Health Hospital, Mrs. Elizabeth Nanny Lib (Carter) Coker, 75, widow of Billy Pop Bill Coker of 26 Acorn Lane joined her Heavenly Father and loved ones.
Mrs. Coker was born on June 25, 1938 in South Carolina, a daughter of the late Jesse J. and Myrtle (Roe) Carter.
Elizabeth was an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church where she was a member of the Young at Heart. She was retired from the Hershey Chocolate Company. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, caring for others and had an unconditional love for her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband of fifty-eight years, Mrs. Coker was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Hammer of Fishersville, Beverly Burford and husband Doug of Waynesboro, and Phyllis Hartley and husband Tony of Staunton; four brothers, Dewey Carter and Carlie Carter of Florida, Carol Carter and Jessie Carter of South Carolina; two sisters, Lillian Weber and Betty Jean McClain of South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Shane Hammer, Brock Hammer, Ian Hammer, Amanda Harman, Ashley Shifflett and husband Adam, Austin Burford, Vanessa Mundie and husband Chris, Patrick Hartley and wife Cari and Sarah Peters and husband Brett; twelve great-grandchildren; special friends, Cricket Hartley, Jeff and Beverly Hartley and family, Eddie Hammer and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Crossroads Baptist Church by Pastor Bill Johnson and Mr. Dan Tanner.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence of Elizabeths daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Tony Hartley, 215 Hermitage Road, Staunton.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
