Edwin Lopez, 76, of Brooklyn New York, passed away on September 17, 2020.

Edwin was one of six children and was born on June 12, 1944 to the parents of Anselmo Lopez and his wife Agustina Canal which were both born in Borinquen, Puerto Rico.

Edwin is survived by his brother Angel Lopez, who resides in Ft. Myers, Florida. Edwin married the love of his life Libertad Vidal on July 3, 1965. He was honored to have four children: Eduardo, Belinda, Enzo and Ruthie, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Edwin was a loving husband, father, and a great provider. We were not rich but a person's own family is, without doubt, the greatest wealth that we will ever possess. Papi made sure he invested his time with his family and made the most of every moment. Treasure every moment and take the time to ensure that the story you create is one that you will be proud of and look back on with a huge smile. Edwin's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile and sweet demeanor brought so much joy to many. What brought joy in Papi's life was spending time with his family which he loved, especially his grandkids. Papi was loved by many. He was surely a man of his integrity and loyalty. I know we will all miss him and we will always hold a piece of him in our hearts. He genuinely left an impression on everyone who ever met him.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
