Edward Vincent Welsh, 74, husband of Karyn Ann Welsh, of Staunton, Virginia passed away on April 25, 2024 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mr. Welsh was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 16, 1949, the son of the late Edward Vincent Welsh and Florence Welsh.

Edward loved baseball, whether playing it himself or rooting for the Mets. He enjoyed traveling to Europe and visiting various fine art museums. Edward gained a deep appreciation of impressionist and renaissance artists, brought about by his visit to the Louvre Museum in Paris. Edward was a history buff. He was very knowledgeable of WWII and was an avid admirer of WWII veterans. He spent many nights reading WWII books, watching documentaries, and sharing his passion with his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife, is a sister, Dorothy Oliva of Northport, NY; two step-children, Megan Miller and her husband, Adam Rosen of Staunton and Jason Kreth and his wife, Michele of Helena, Montana; and four grandchildren, Kayleigh Kreth, Jamie Kreth, Caleb Miller and Gavin Miller.

Mr. Welsh was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Pellegrino, Patricia Welsh, and Kathleen Fassler; and two brothers Thomas and James Welsh.

He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Northport, New York.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is assisting with his arrangements.
