Edward Worthey Chaplin's Obituary

Edward Worthey Chaplin, 89, husband of Dorothy Englatine (Chaplin) Chaplin of 102 Norwood Road, passed away Thursday morning, March 18, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Chaplin was born May 10, 1920 in Lexington, VA, a son of the late Guy and Annie (Conner) Chaplin.
Ed was retired from Virginia Transformer Company and was a member of Cherryvale United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Chaplin was preceded in death by a step-son, Boyd B. Painter, a brother, Frank Chaplin and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Johnson, Mrs. Lula Campbell and Mrs. Alice Irvine.
In addition to his wife to whom he married on April 14, 1971, survivors include three step-sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Lee Painter and his wife Ann, Eugene Thomas Painter and his wife Linda and Loyd Berry Painter and his wife Patricia all of Staunton; two brothers, Ernie Chaplin and Bennie Chaplin both of Lexington; eight step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the residence.
Services and burial will be private.
