(Hartman) Marshall
July 1, 1935 – January 19, 2026
Edna May (Hartman) Marshall, 90, widow of David "Calvin" Marshall, of Monument Drive in Staunton, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at her son's residence in Verona.
Mrs. Marshall was born in Linville, Virginia on July 1, 1935, daughter of the late James Roy Hartman and Minnie Belle (Mongold) Hartman.
Edna retired from Genesco Corporation after many years of dedicated service as a seamstress and also enjoyed running booths at the Verona Antique Mall. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Staunton Moose Lodge. In her leisure time, Edna was an avid fan of NASCAR and Major League Baseball, faithfully following her favorite teams and races.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Smith; three brothers, Ralph W. Hartman, Alfred L. Hartman, and Paul E. Hartman, Sr.; four sisters, Stella Allison, Elsie Fitzgerald, Dorothy Thompson, and Wanda Gregory; a special friend, Vickie Wiseman; and her pet cat, Fluffy.
Surviving, are two sons, Kenneth E. Hartman and his wife, Darlene of Verona and Michael E. Hartman of Staunton; a sister, Shirley Samuels of New Church, VA; two sisters-in-law, Anna Hartman and Frances Michael and her husband, Donald; four grandchildren, Melissa Hartman, Linda Roberts, Edward Hartman, and Marlin Hartman; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at her son Kenneth's residence, 68 Jefferson Street, Verona, VA 24482.
Burial will follow in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren and nephew, Gene Potter.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
