Edith J. Norton's Obituary
Edith Jacqueline Jackie Norton, 73, of 33 Smitty Drive, Verona, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Ms. Norton was born April 16, 1936 in Baltimore County, Maryland, a daughter of the late Frank L. and Birdell (Kesler) Norton.
Prior to retiring in 1988, Jackie worked for over twenty years for the Genicom Company. She was an avid antique collector and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Peggy (Hendrickson) Rankin, and her husband William Lenny Rankin, Jr., David Lewis Shifflett all of Verona; and Laura Ann Shifflett of Stuarts Draft; two grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Heather (Rankin) Killen, and her husband Michael of Harrisonburg and Katlyn Renee Fridley of Stuarts Draft.
All services are private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the Fort Defiance High School, C/O the Band Boosters, 195 Fort Defiance Road, Fort Defiance, VA 24437 or to the Stuarts Draft High School, C/O the Elevations All-Star Cheering Squad, 1028 Augusta Farms Road, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care given to Edith.
