Edith Louise (Lewis) White, 83, wife of Frank Thomas White, Sr. of 426 North Market Street, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her residence.
Mrs. White was born in Staunton, Virginia on January 14, 1938, a daughter of the late Curtis Lewis and Beatrice (Stuart) Lewis.
Edith was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the prayer group at Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was self-employed as a Health Care Giver, she enjoyed playing rummy cube, cooking, and especially baking.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Lewis, Irvin Lewis, and Curtis Lewis.
Surviving in addition to her husband of over forty years, is a daughter, Donna Anderson and husband Jacob; a step-son, Frank Thomas White, Jr. both of Staunton; a sister, Ellen B. Lewis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a grandson, Jeremy Clark; seven step- grandchildren, Tamara Nelson, Trusha Nelson, Chris White, Tyler White, Langston White, Michael Jones, and Trevor Hinch; two great-grandchildren, Janyia Nelson and NaLeah Nelson; and a niece, Ashley Philyaw.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times the residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Michael Turner.
Burial will follow the service in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Faith Shifflett and Clara Johnson, the nursing staff at Amedisys Home Health Care, and Robin and Angie and nursing staff at the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for the wonderful care given to Mrs. White.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
