Edith Virginia (Glenn) Chrisman Howdyshell, 91, of Staunton, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2021.

Edith was born on May 23, 1930 in Augusta County. She was the daughter of the late Christian L. Glenn and Blanch (Allen) Glenn.

Edith graduated from Wilson High School and was very involved in her class reunion for the last 70 years. She worked for 32 years at Smith's Transfer and Wilson Trucking for 15 years.

Edith was a devoted Christian; she was a member of Calvary Baptist of Lyndhurst and active in the ladies Bible study.

Edith was preceded in death by husband, James Howdyshell; brother, Walter L. Glenn; sister, Mary F. (Glenn) Fitzgerald; and step-son, Tim Howdyshell.

She is survived by sons, Thomas E. (Margaret) Chrisman and David A. (Wanda) Chrisman Jr.; step-daughter, Susan Alley; Sue Stephenson and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church, Lyndhurst, by Pastor Bill Cole. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

"Huckle Bearers" will be family members.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
