Edith May (Campbell) Welch, also known as "Bug", 67, of 73 Rocky Hill Road, Staunton, Virginia and formerly of Montvale, Virginia went home to her heavenly father on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Edith was greeted with the loving arms of her husband, Carlyle B. Welch, who passed away in 2009. Edith was also preceded in death by her parents, Edward W. Campbell and Mabel Ella (Jianniney) Campbell; sisters, Doris A. Mays, Geraldine M. Lipscomb, and Frances J. Shifflett; a niece, Lisa Castle and a special friend, Donnie Wood.

Her favorite things to do were crocheting beautiful blankets and reading her Bible.

Edith is survived by her daughter, April Smith and her husband, Dave of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her son, Michael E. Campbell and his wife, Roxie of Waynesboro, Virginia; a special sister, Wilma Lee Campbell of Staunton, Barbara Bryant and her husband, Phil, Brenda Davis and her husband, Darrel, Carolyn Howdyshell and her husband, Carl, all of Waynesboro, Evelyn Vannest of Harrisonburg,; brothers, James Campbell, Edward W. Campbell, Jr., Arthur Campbell and his wife and special sister-in-law, Wanda, all of Waynesboro; and special friend, We We Woods. Edith was an extremely loving grandmother of four grandchildren, Katie Smith, Jacob Smith, Benny Smith, and Brittney N. Campbell. Edith's grandchildren were her world and we know she will be their amazing guardian angel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Montvale Baptist Church Cemetery in Montvale, Virginia by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
