Edgar Richard Dickie Hall, Sr., 72, husband of Gracie M. (Loan) Hall, of 348 Adam Street, Craigsville, went home to be with his Savior and loved ones peacefully on Friday, July 2, 2010 while on his porch enjoying the fresh air. Mr. Hall had been under the Rockbridge Area Hospice Care.
Dickie was born April 4, 1938 in Lexington, a son of the late David W. and Mildred (Bryant) Hall.
He was retired from Stillwater Mills Inc. after 40 years of service, he was a founding member of the Goshen Rescue Squad, he loved to hunt, bowl, watch western movies, play softball and spending time with his loved ones.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy T. Hall and a brother, Earl M. Hall.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife Gracie M. (Loan) Hall, to whom he married on June 17, 2007; his children, Pam and her husband Steve Sprouse, of Folks Run, Jeannie Eakin, of Greenville, Anna and her husband Nick Smith, of Goshen, Peggy Jolly, of Lexington, Richard and his wife Miranda Hall of Goshen and Mary and her husband Rodney Campbell of Goshen; his grandchildren, Mike Runkle, Laura Rhodes and her husband Jeremy, Gloria and Samantha Eakin, George and Ashley Alphin, Brittney Jolly, Kellie Huffman, Derek Smith, Keaton, Nathan and Kaitlyn Hall, Lakyn Campbell, Carrie Terry, Morgan Puff and Nichlaus-Yeaw; his step grandchild, Adrien Thompson; his great grandchildren, Tyler Rhodes and Molly Runkle-Yeaw and special sister-in-law, Betty Olson, special friend, Charles Kennedy and special niece Dystani Olson. Mr. Hall also leaves behind a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many close and personal friends.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Linwood Wilkes and Tony Martin.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home or at other times the home of his step-daughter, Mary and Rodney Campbell, 2648 Estaline Valley Road, Goshen, or his son Richard Hall, 236 Furnace Hill Road, Goshen.
Active pallbearers will be Eugene Bowden, Danny Clifton, Anthony Kirby, Charles Bryant, Jamie Bryant and Carl White.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
