Earl F. Quick

STAUNTON:
Earl Franklin Quick, 84, husband of Frances (Root) Quick of 21 Woodlee Road passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at Augusta Health.
Mr. Quick was born in Augusta County on September 28, 1926, a son of the late D. Thomas and Elizabeth Marie (Dixon) Quick.
He was a lifetime member of Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as church treasurer for fifty years and also served as the area treasurer of the W.R.E.C.
Mr. Quick was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force and was owner and operator of Quicks Bus Company. Mr. Quick never officially retired from Quicks Bus Company and was known and admired for his outstanding work ethic which was also his favorite pastime. He was a graduate of R.E. Lee High School class of 1944, Dunsmore Business College and Coyne Electrical College.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Mr. Quick is survived by a brother, Robert Lee Bob Quick of Staunton; an adopted daughter whom they raised, JudyAnn Connor and her husband Steven of Staunton; a nephew, Robbie Quick of Staunton; a niece, Mrs. Debbie Ray and her husband Danny of Staunton; a very dear and special friend and caregiver, Ms. Katie Davis, and many cousins also survive.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Kenneth A. Price.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
