Durwood Kenton "Woody" Griffin, 60, husband of Betty Ann (Puffenbarger) Griffin, of Jerusalem Chapel Road in Churchville, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Woody was born in Staunton, Virginia on July 3, 1961, a son of Janet (Painter) McNeill and the late Joe Louis Griffin.

Mr. Griffin enjoyed pitching horseshoes and will be remembered as a horseshoe champion.

In addition to his father, Woody was preceded in death by a brother, J.W. Painter; mother-in-law, Patsy Malcolm; and step-father, Robert McNeill.

Surviving, in addition to his mother of Norfolk and wife of 16 years, is a step-daughter, Ida Belle Puffenbarger of Churchville; two sisters, JoAnn Jackson (Jerry) of Staunton and Hazel Partin (Harold) of Norfolk; sisters-in-law, Nancy Smith of Staunton and Martha Roadcap (Randall) and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021 at Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville by Pastor George Etling.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family requests casual attire.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to a charity of one's choosing in memory of Woody.
